Metalware Case Studies
Automotive Distribution Center
Metalware was able to recover valuable storage space by replacing existing, inefficient pallet racking with high-density, multi-level, shelf-supported storage platforms. The image to the left depicts the wasted space. The selective rack, with a combined depth of 108” (including row spacers), was replaced with a combined depth of 48” inches using back-to-back Interlok shelving. It’s no wonder this leading automotive distribution center has one of the best order fill rates in the industry.
Walmart Distribution Center
Walmart required a high-density, high-efficiency, pick, pack, and ship storage solution for its distribution center. There was one caveat; they knew they would be expanding the distribution center, but not in the first phase of installation. Metalware proposed a high-density, E-Series Widespan shelving and extended the uprights an additional 2’-0” to make the system future-ready for vertical expansion.
Porsche Distribution Center

Porche’s tender requirements for the new 113K sq ft distribution center were quite stringent; environmental concerns, workflow processes and custom specifications (adopted from European centers) were mandatory. Metalware was able to accommodate the non-standard European shelving specifications, provide the right storage solution, delivery and installation that exceeded the customers expectations. Metalware accessories included:
- Overhead safety gates
- Handrails
- Staircases
